The outlook is for a harvest of excellent quality, thanks to <strong>the outstanding health of the grapes<\/strong>.<br>Pressure from the main vine diseases remained very limited, making it possible to significantly reduce the number of plant protection treatments carried out during the growing season. This confirms the effectiveness of Ferrari Trento\u2019s continuous agronomic monitoring and <strong>sustainable viticulture practices<\/strong>.<br>The 2026 harvest is <strong>particularly<\/strong> <strong>early<\/strong>. Flowering had already been completed by the end of May. Weather conditions in June and July, characterised by high temperatures and an overall favourable pattern, confirmed this trend, bringing grape ripening forward by approximately ten days compared with the average of the past decade. This acceleration represents the principal challenge of the 2026 harvest. In a vintage such as this, <strong>mountain viticulture<\/strong> makes an even greater difference, helping to preserve the <strong>acidity<\/strong> and <strong>verticality<\/strong> that define the distinctive style of Ferrari Trentodoc wines.<br>More than ever, it will be essential to identify the perfect picking time for each vineyard, achieving <strong>the ideal balance between aromatic ripeness and freshness<\/strong>. For this reason, the harvest will be particularly dynamic and concentrated. Weather permitting, picking operations are expected to be completed within three to four weeks.<br>In accordance with the Trentodoc appellation, all grapes will be harvested exclusively <strong>by hand<\/strong>. Picking will proceed gradually and selectively, following the progress of ripening across vineyards at different altitudes within Ferrari Trento\u2019s viticultural estate. This work demands care, experience and an in-depth knowledge of the territory, with the aim of bringing out the distinctive qualities of each individual parcel.<br>Attention has also been paid to the people working in the vineyards. During the hottest periods, activities in Ferrari Trento\u2019s estate-owned vineyards were reorganised, with shifts beginning earlier, during the coolest hours of the day. The relevant protocol was also updated to ensure greater <strong>protection for workers<\/strong>. These organisational measures will remain in place throughout the harvest should further periods of unusually high temperatures occur.<br>Ferrari Trento\u2019s network of almost 600 winegrowers, together with the Lunelli family\u2019s estate vineyards, allows the winery to draw on a viticultural heritage extending <strong>from 300 to 800 metres above sea level, across areas as diverse as the Adige Valley, the Valle dei Laghi and the Cembra Valley<\/strong>. The diversity of these mountain vineyards is one of Trentodoc\u2019s greatest strengths. <strong>Different exposures, altitudes and soils<\/strong> provide the flexibility required to address increasingly complex climatic conditions, while preserving the identity and quality that distinguish Ferrari Trentodoc wines.<br>Every aspect of the winery has also been prepared for what is expected to be a particularly intense harvest. <strong>Chef de Cave Cyril Brun<\/strong> approaches his fourth harvest in Italy in optimal conditions, following the significant <strong>investments<\/strong> made in recent years to <strong>renovate and expand the winemaking facilities<\/strong>.<br>\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>Three new Coquard presses were acquired last year, and their operating cycles have been optimised in the months leading up to the harvest, allowing them to run at full capacity from the very first days. In addition to enabling the winery to process exclusively whole bunches, the new pressing area allows the grapes to be loaded directly into the presses, eliminating the need for conveyor-belt transfer. These improvements will further enhance the must extraction process, ensuring the highest possible quality of the sparkling wine bases.<br>Trials aimed at introducing <strong>artificial intelligence into the production process<\/strong> are also continuing. In the vineyards, new technologies provide georeferenced estimates of grape quality and yields, while in the winery they support quality control of the grapes before pressing.<br>Marcello Lunelli, Vice President of Ferrari Trento, comments: \u201cWe are approaching the start of the harvest with great confidence, thanks to grapes that are healthy and of excellent quality. The early start confirms how climate change is reshaping the timing of viticulture and making the role of mountain vineyards increasingly important. This year, it will be even more crucial to identify the ideal picking time for each individual vineyard, drawing on the extraordinary diversity of altitudes and exposures across our territory.
