Ferrari Trento named “Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year” at The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships

With an impressive thirteen gold medals, the Gruppo Lunelli’s winery has once again demonstrated its excellence, making Trentodoc the most awarded denomination in the world.

For the fifth year in a row — and the eighth time overall — Ferrari Trento has been crowned “Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year” at The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships, the most prestigious global competition dedicated exclusively to sparkling wines.

The gold medals were awarded across a wide range of Ferrari labels, showcasing the breadth and depth of the brand — from the iconic non-vintage Ferrari Brut and the Maximum line to the long-aged Reserves featured in the exclusive “Archivio di Famiglia” project. This consistent quality across the portfolio reinforces Ferrari Trento’s reputation as a benchmark of Italian excellence with global appeal.

This year’s competition saw over 1,000 sparkling wines from 23 countries. Italy emerged as the most awarded nation, earning 93 golds and 174 silvers — ahead of France, Australia, and the UK. With 35 gold medals and 62 silvers, Trentodoc was the single most celebrated denomination worldwide.

The competition’s founder, Tom Stevenson, one of the world’s foremost authorities on sparkling wine and author of Christie’s World Encyclopedia of Champagne & Sparkling Wine, praised Ferrari Trento, saying: “What can I say about Ferrari Trento that has not already been said? If you could pick up the ethos, artistry, work ethic of its gifted people and transport them with their winery, cellars and the topographical integrity of its vineyards and drop them anywhere in the world, they would excel. Anywhere. That is why Ferrari Trento are Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year for the fifth year in a row and an incredible eight times out of the 12 years the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships has existed.”

Matteo Lunelli, President and CEO of Ferrari Trento commented: “This award is a tribute to the passion, talent, and hard work of our entire team. It speaks to Trentino’s natural vocation for creating world class sparkling wines. I’m especially proud that the judges recognized the versatility of our terroir and our winemakers — capable of crafting both expressive non-vintage wines and extraordinary Reserves that age gracefully for decades while retaining elegance, freshness, and finesse.”
