Gruppo Lunelli confirms its commitment to the promotion of sustainable practices and policies by adhering to the United Nations Global Compact, a network that unites governments, businesses, United Nations agencies, trade unions and civil society organisations with the aim of promoting a sustainable global economy that respects human and labour rights, environmental protection and the fight against corruption.
Proposed in 1999 by former UN secretary Kofi Annan and launched operationally in 2000, more than 20,000 companies from 162 countries have joined, creating the world's largest strategic corporate citizenship initiative.
"Joining the Global Compact is a further demonstration of our Group's willingness to make concrete commitments and contribute to the promotion, dissemination and application of sustainable principles and practices," commented Camilla Lunelli.
Indeed, adhering to the UN Global Compact means committing to share, support and enforce within one's sphere of influence, a set of principles relating to human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption through responsible policy actions, business practices, social and civic behaviour that also take into account future generations.
