Marcello Lunelli appointed President of the Fondazione Vino Patrimonio Comune – ‘Wine Heritage Foundation

A Foundation designed to protect the authenticity of Italian wine, companies and wine-growing territories, to strengthen and consolidate the value of wine and its viticulture as an ambassador of Made in Italy in the world. With these premises, the Fondazione Vino Patrimonio Comune was presented in Rome on November 15th, with a press conference in the Cavour Room of the Ministry of Agriculture. Its presidency was entrusted to Marcello Lunelli, Vice-President of Ferrari Trento.

Initiated by Federvini and Alleanza delle Cooperative Italiane – Agroalimentare, which together account for more than 60% of the turnover of the Italian wine sector, this Foundation represents a point of convergence between companies and the world of research, as well as an important step towards safeguarding authenticity and promoting sustainability in the Italian wine world; sustainability understood not only in its strictly environmental sense, but also as a system of social and cultural values of the territories of origin, which without viticulture would often fall into oblivion or lose the historical heritage of rural civilisations that still today represent an enormous resource for our country.

Marcello Lunelli, in his role as President of Fondazione Vino Patrimonio Comune, emphasised the importance of authentic wine, representing respect for consumers and guaranteeing solid business relations.

“The Foundation was created with the aim of consolidating the value of Italian wine, the ambassador of Italian character in the world. A pioneering project that aims to promote a sustainable system, preserving quality along the entire value chain. We want to connect businesses, consumers and the market, in collaboration with public bodies and best performers in the sector’. The Foundation represents a significant step to support the Italian wine sector, encouraging conscious and responsible consumption and opening up new growth prospects for the entire sector; a path that Ferrari Trento has been pursuing for years, becoming an ambassador of Italian wine style and culture, centred on fundamental values linked to tradition, but also to the necessary ability to innovate, as well as respect for the territory it belongs to and the people who work there.

Ferrari Trento promotes a culture of drinking responsibly which is part of the Italian Art of Living.

It is a culture linked to the ritual nature of food and the celebration of convivial occasions, in which consumption is moderate and informed.
