Gruppo Lunelli Takes Centre Stage at Milano Wine Week 2026: The Lunelli Family Receives the “Famiglia del Vino” Award
The “Famiglia del vino” Award celebrates family businesses that pass down a wealth of knowledge and expertise from one generation to the next. This year, the award went to the Lunelli family, with the following citation by Federico Gordini, President of Milano Wine Week: “The Lunelli family embodies the excellence of Made in Italy on the global stage, bringing the finest Italian wines to international markets. The family has achieved an exceptional balance between entrepreneurship, business diversification and the recognition of the strengths and expertise of its different branches, entrusting cousins with roles and responsibilities within a shared vision. It is an outstanding example of family governance and generational transition, where tradition, innovation and strategic vision come together, turning family continuity into a genuine competitive advantage”. The award was presented to Matteo Lunelli, CEO of Gruppo Lunelli, on the evening of 19 October.
At the Wine Hospitality Awards, Tenute Lunelli, Gruppo Lunelli’s still wine brand, received the Best Architecture & Design Wine Hospitality award for Carapace, its winery in Umbria designed by Arnaldo Pomodoro. Ferrari Trento, meanwhile, was honoured with the Best Food and Wine Hospitality award. Both accolades recognise the Gruppo’s ability to create distinctive hospitality experiences where wine, gastronomy, art and the local area come together.
These achievements are further complemented by the inclusion of three wines in the Wine List Italia 2026: Ferrari Perlé Nero 2018, Ferrari Riserva Lunelli 2016 and Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore 2015, selected by leading sommeliers.
Milano Wine Week also provided an opportunity to showcase the depth and ageing potential of Ferrari Trentodoc through two exceptional evenings dedicated to Archivio di Famiglia, a project celebrating the brand’s Riserva wines and their extended ageing. The first event took place at Portrait Milano on 11 October, while the second is scheduled for 21 October with a special dinner at NOMAD, in Milan’s Certosa District. On this occasion, Marcello Lunelli, Vice President of Ferrari Trento, will guide guests through a tasting journey paired with a menu created by chef Francesco Guarino.
