Ferrari Trento shines in the ‘Sparkle 2024’ Guide
Wine guides’ judges keep recognizing to Ferrari Trento the most important awards in the field: this time it is the Ferrari Perlé Bianco Riserva 2016, the Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore 2012 and the Giulio Ferrari Rosé 2012 that have won the ” Cinque Sfere”, in Sparkle 2024, the 22nd edition of the publication dedicated to the best Italian Brut sparkling wines published by the famous food and wine magazine “Cucina & Vini”.
A guide presenting no less than 870 labels, 91 of which were awarded the highest accolade, and where therefore the protagonists of the awards event on December 2nd at the “Parco dei Principi” Grand Hotel & Spa in Rome, where the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ was also awarded to Ruben Larentis, Ferrari’s historic oenologist for no less than 42 vintages.
“We are staging, as we do every year, a day dedicated to the best of the Italian sparkling wine art,” emphasizes Francesco D’Agostino, director of Cucina & Vini and of the guide, “after a truly exciting tasting season, which confirms the extreme quality of our country’s sparkling wines, supported by an equally positive production in terms of numbers. The dry sparkling wine sector has been growing non-stop for twenty years, in an almost vertiginous way, establishing itself as one of the most surprising phenomena in the current wine market”.
In this context, Trentino stood out as the second region in Italy for the number of labels of excellence: no less than 22 awarded, all belonging to the Trentodoc. This denomination, the first in Italy dedicated to Metodo Classico sparkling wine, sees Ferrari Trento among its founders and main supporters. From the intuition of Giulio Ferrari, who back in 1902 began cultivating Chardonnay grapes with the aim of creating wines capable of competing with the best Champagnes to the present day, Ferrari Trento represents an internationally recognized icon of the Italian Art of Living and is an ambassador for this unique territory and its extraordinary ‘mountain sparkling wines’ that, year after year, achieve ever greater recognition.
