Matteo Lunelli awarded EY Entrepreneur Of The Year

The prestigious award from the international professional services firm

rewards Matteo Lunelli for his commitment to bringing Italian excellence to the world

Matteo Lunelli, Managing Director of Gruppo Lunelli and Chairman and CEO of Ferrari Trento, is the national winner of the EY Entrepreneur of The Year™ award, a prestigious recognition now in its twenty-fifth year, reserved for entrepreneurs who have made a significant contribution to the economic, environmental and social growth of the country, demonstrating both courage and a capacity for innovation and transformation, in a period characterised by major challenges and continuous change.

The winner was selected by an independent jury from EY, made up of well-known representatives from the institutional worlds of economics and entrepreneurship, which chose Matteo Lunelli “for his commitment to bringing Italian excellence to the world, tackling the growth path of a family-run business rooted in the territory, with courage and constant commitment in the search for quality and attention to detail, making the most of talent, between tradition, innovation and sustainability”.

Gruppo Lunelli’s objective is to create a hub of Italian excellence in the high-end beverage sector and today it includes Ferrari Trento, Grappa Segnana, Surgiva mineral water, Tenute Lunelli still wines and, more recently, Prosecco Superiore Bisol1542 and the iconic Cedrata Tassoni.
Matteo joined the family group in 2003 after working internationally with the investment bank Goldman Sachs, taking over as Chairman in 2011 and later becoming CEO of Ferrari Trento.
Internationalisation, managerialisation and sustainability are the aspects on which he has focused his greatest energies, contributing to the expansion of the Group, which has more than doubled its turnover in the last decade, thus increasing the results and prestige of all the brands.
A firm believer in Made in Italy, he has also been President of Altagamma since 2020.

“I am honoured to receive this award, which is first and foremost an acknowledgement of the passion, dedication and talent of all the women and men of Gruppo Lunelli. It is the fruit of a 120-year history studded with successes for the company and, for me, 20 years of very intense and demanding work, that is also beautiful and full of satisfaction. I dedicate it to the people who support me every day: to my wife who always stands by me, to my entire family who has always given me great trust, and to our employees who share our passion and values. Our Group wants to be an ambassador of the Italian lifestyle in the world and its success is linked precisely to its loyalty to certain values: the pursuit of excellence in every detail, the strong link with the territory and a business vision that operates in harmony with the environment, and putting people at the centre”.
